Fireworks Supermarket: Spring 2012 & 2013

Packaging for various types of fireworks designed, imported, and sold by Fireworks Supermarket. Fireworks Supermarket, who named each one based on the action of the firework, shared their inspiration for each name, and handed over creative freedom.

Labels were printed by the fireworks factory in China and shrink-wrapped to the packaging before import to the US.

Big Bad Bangers—inspired by the gangsters of the Roaring Twenties. Bright sign lights illuminate the background with the car and tommy guns bursting out in-your-face style.

Perfect Storm—created as part of a series for the Time Bandit fisherman on television's Deadliest Catch. We find their ship mid squall with the seas beating down the typography.

Random Action—skulls and snakes were requested. A hand illustrated multi-body snake intertwined around the label, even weaving through the skull for full action effect.

Bahama Mama—inspired by Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, this brings together the bright colors and feel of carefree summer fun.

Temper Tantrum—exactly what it sounds like. An angry Popeye-esque character steams as his anger can't be contained any longer and the fireworks burst from his head.

Whack Job—a mad scientist's concoction gone wrong creates this crazy burst of fireworks. His crazy eye and dizzying background warn of the creation within.
